Microsoft Connections

Microsoft and Enterprise Ireland are running a pilot event called “Microsoft Connections” in the USA   

The aim is to introduce our clients to Microsoft contacts and partners in the US markets as well as key Microsoft staff so as to help accelerate these companies growth.

 Our clients will pay a nominal charge and their own travel, hotel and living expenses.

 The next steps are;

  1. Any Enterprise Ireland can nominate themselves via their Development Advisor (deadline is by Wednesday 15th Oct)
  2. Microsoft, working with Enterprise Ireland, will select the most suitable candidates.
  3. A workshop to prepare participating companies will take place in Microsoft Sandyford on Friday 30th Oct.
  4. A market visit to Microsoft in Silicon Valley will take place around the 20th November (exact date to be decided).

 Support offered to participating companies

  • Help create a profile to present to potential partners (mini Partner Business Plan)
  • In country visit to Silicon Valley, facilitated meetings with key Microsoft, Enterprise Ireland and other interested parties.
  • Coaching on proposition, strategy and tactics for export through a workshop.
  • Connection to Microsoft and Microsoft Partners.
  • Promotion of the companies through PR via Microsoft and Enterprise Ireland.

 Requirement of participating companies

  • Be ready to Export
  • Have a compelling product proposition
  • Commitment to Microsoft tech roadmap
  • Have (or be willing to develop) Case Studies / Proof Points
  • Preparation and attendance on workshop, preparation and in market visit.

Mobile health, smart grid in the spotlight at CTIA IT

As it celebrates its eleven-year anniversary, the International CTIA Wireless IT & Entertainment 2009 show, which takes place Oct. 7-9 at the San Diego Convention Center, appears to be going back to its original roots as a predominantly mobile enterprise conference. The annual conference has often struggled with its identity–from 2004 until 2007 it had a strong entertainment focus. But now it is capitalizing on the industry push into various vertical enterprise segments. Those vertical markets, particularly health care and utilities, are where many believe the next stage of wireless industry growth will occur.
