Keynote Speech: “The Emerging Personal Computing Era”
Pankaj Kedia, Director, Global Ecosystem Programs, Intel

The key message of Mr.Kedia’s speech was “the move form the personal computer to personal Computing – mobility is the key”.
The speech was put in context with a variety of interesting facts:

-Skype is the number 2 “operator” in the world.
-Facebook posts 2 billion pictures a month.
-210 billion emails per day are sent worldwide.
-1 billion Google searches take place a day.

With “mobility” being highlighted as the key, the point was made that the internet is moving to more become more real-time, more social, becomes invisible (where one just assumes you have access), more contextual, more location-based, more customizable, more interactive, more semantic and overall a more mobile tool.
Every mobile device becomes a mobile computer – with same visually compelling internet experience as on a PC, the phone call side of it will be nearly incidental. (more…)

Ideagen – an Idea Generation roadshow for new High Potential Start-Ups (HPSUs) in Ireland

Ideagen – a new idea generation initiative to stimulate and support the next wave of new business in the South East region of Ireland has just been launched (October 6th 2009).

Ideagen is calling for entrepreneurs with serious intentions to build new high-growth businesses to register their interest at www.ideagen.ie

Experienced entrepreneurs and people setting up new businesses are all welcome.

At these events, entrepreneurs will be introduced to Ireland’s brightest third-level researchers in structured sessions facilitated by Innovation Delivery, a specialist business innovation consultancy based in Dublin and San Francisco. Each event will also have a case-study presentation by an experienced entrepreneur. The primary objectives are to generate business ideas through information-sharing and to build potential business relationships.

Four Ideagen events will take place, each focusing on a specific sector, between October and December of this year. (more…)

Description: Our Annual Handset Innovation Review is a ½ day meeting to showcase the handset development lifecycle, what innovations are coming to handsets, and how new innovation gets inserted into handsets. Like our other Mobile Forum meetings, this gathers 100 decision-level participants for a private and interactive agenda that includes plenty of time for senior-level discussions. We expect to address:

What innovations can we expect from the current generation of phones and the next.
