* Consumer Content Management: We’re looking for innovative solutions to accessing, sharing and managing content
* New Applications and Services: We are seeking partnerships to bring new applications and services to consumers. These include Social Networking, Video Communication, Productivity, Convenience, Health and Wellness, Life Management, Shopping, Mobile Banking/Wallet, Messaging, etc.
* User Interaction: We’re looking to move beyond the current generation of user interfaces. To do this, we need elemental technologies to help us achieve this – touchless screens, proximity detection, gesture recognition, voice recognition (including ‘speech to text’ and ‘text to speech’), motion detection, location awareness etc. We’re also interested in innovative software to enable these technologies.
* Wireless & RF Technologies: We’re looking for new ways to send data between consumer electronics devices wirelessly. We’re looking for un-compressed transmissions that can be used for all sorts of data between many devices. We also want to hear about antenna technologies.
* Next Gen Displays: We’d like to hear about technologies related to displays, addressing the current trends in 3D, OLED, LED backlight, slim dimensions etc; as well as more longer term visions such as whole wall displays and ways to drive super high resolutions or scalable modular systems.
* In Car Telematics: One of the B2B areas that LG is involved in is In Car Telematics. In this category, we’re looking for different types of driver assistance systems.
* Energy Efficiency Technologies: We would like to hear about technologies for improving energy efficiency and lower power consumption in our products, and also environmentally friendly home energy generation and storage.
* Security & Surveillance: LG is looking for technologies that will take home, building and related security applications to the next level. This includes content recognition and tracking, pattern analysis, unusual activity detection systems, storage technology, etc.
* Personal Healthcare: We are interested in mobile and in home monitoring, non-invasive testing, health tracking, etc. We’re also interested in technologies that help to maintain a healthy life, such as air quality management solutions, water filtration and treatment solutions.
