Enterprise Ireland client Terminalfour has signed a contract to provide an Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS) to New York-based SUNY Empire State College.

The deal, believed to be worth more than €100,000, will see Terminalfour supply its Site Manager software to help improve online facilities for students and staff.

Empire State College is a multi-site institution that is focused on mature and distant learners.

Its courses are provided to 18,000 students in 35 locations in the state of New York and six international sites, including the Lebanon, Czech Republic, the Dominican Republic and Greece.

The college will use Terminalfour’s Site Manager to eliminate duplicated, disparate and siloed information and to create a personalised web and mobile experience for students and prospective students.

The college will provide personalised dashboards to every community member, enabling students to create tailored content, including updates from a learning management system, events calendars and other personal applications.

‘‘The goal is to deliver a new web presence for the college.

As the website is becoming our communications hub and mode of service delivery, we needed it to be more engaging, interesting and dynamic,” said Stephen Simon, assistant director, Infrastructure, Office of Integrated Technologies, Empire State College.

“Terminalfour understood our objectives for the website.

With almost 60 higher education clients worldwide, we knew Terminalfour was best suited to support our unique drivers.

It’s been a true partnership since day one,” said.

Terminalfour provides web content management solutions to universities, public sector bodies and multinationals.

It has more than 200 customers in the European market.

According to the most recent abridged accounts for the company, it had shareholder’s funds of €706,021 for the year ended October 31, 2008.In June, Terminalfour secured equity funding of €1.6 million to finance expansion into the US market.
