Ireland catching the global ocean energy wave

With continuing State support, energy from the sea could be key to Ireland’s economic future. It is known as the “Nokia” factor. Just as the mobile phone manufacturer is credited with rescuing Finland from its economic difficulties in the early 1990s, so ocean energy has been identified as a potential “lifebelt” for Ireland.
