IDC published a report in December outlining predictions for 2010. Two themes will dominate: recovery and transformation. While IDC predicts a telecommunications spending growth of 3% in the U.S. and worldwide, the really interesting aspect is that IDC sees 2010 as a transformational year in telecoms with mergers and acquisitions and new services that will change the telecoms landscape. IDC says that companies ready to take advantage of this change will be the winners. For me this means, that 2010 is a key year for Irish companies who have technology related to telecoms to make the market aware of their services. The top four predictions include:
1. Building out of cloud services and consumption
2. Growth in mobile devices and apps.
3. Growing popularity of video apps
4. Growth of high speed networks.
