This morning Graduates 4 International Growth (G4IG) was launched by Minister Batt O’Keeffe.
The aim of the Graduates 4 International Growth initiative is to assist clients in acquiring future business development capability for their companies. 50 Graduates with potential to be the next generation of business development executives will be matched with 50 ambitious internationally trading companies and provided with a structured means of applying new skills in business development.
Graduates 4 International Growth (G4IG) is 18 months in duration, with participants based 6 months in their company in Ireland and a minimum of 12 months in an overseas market working on a specific company project. During the 18 months participants will also undertake a Post-Graduate Diploma in International Growth with UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School developing practical international business skills.

Enterprise Ireland, the Irish Government agency responsible for the development of Irish enterprises in world markets, would like to invite relevant medical device executives from the US to the Life Sciences International Summit 2010 in Dublin, Ireland. Delegates will be brought to Ireland as guests of the agency, with travel and accommodation costs covered.
Taking place on November 11th 2010, the theme of this event is “Collaboration in Innovation”, particularly between academia and industry. Guests will have the opportunity to survey the Medical Device industry landscape in Ireland, meet the industry’s key figures and share knowledge amongst peers. Amongst those presenting at the event will be industry leaders, US and Irish clinicians, Government Ministers and leading research fellows. Delegates will also be able to avail of a customized itinerary of meetings and site visits with Irish medical device companies relevant to their fields.
Enterprise Ireland would particularly like to invite executives in management, production, R&D and supply chain roles to participate in this event. To qualify for inclusion, certain criteria must be met.

Present at the CA Medical Device & Investor Forum

The California Medical Device & Investor Forum has become the top opportunity for medical device start-up companies that are seeking investment capital to make investment presentations to leading venture capitalists and investors. There are still a few spots left for select companies to participate!

Companies that have presented in the past include:
- OrthAlign – Presented in 2008 & 2009 and raised VC rounds in early 2009 and early 2010. OrthAlign recently received 510(k) market clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration for the latest design of its palm-sized disposable KneeAlign™ computer assisted system for total knee arthroplasty.
- Walk Vascular – Presented in 2008. The company is now part of Incuvate along with a $1.5 million investment.
- NeoMatrix – Presented in 2007 and raised a $15 million round in 2008 & 2009.
- Respirion – Presented in 2008 and is now part of Incuvate which has committed all the necessary funds to get the product to market.
- DxTerity Diagnositics – Presented in 2009 and raised $1 million in December 2009.
This year, The California Medical Device & Investor Forum expanded the investment presentations and will now feature expansion and growth stage medical device companies, as well as hot new start-ups.
